Companion Animal Massage & Bodywork exists to support the mental and physical well-being
of the animals around us as well as their human caretakers. We are Texas-licensed massage therapists working in the greater
Houston and Dallas areas. In addition to massage we offer bodywork, positional release and Reiki for your beloved animal
companions. Sessions are conducted in the animal's home which usually provides the most stress-free environment
available. To schedule a consultation in either the Houston or Dallas area write: marguerite@companionanimalmassage.com
Equally important as the hands-on care we offer is our mission to promote and
educate animal caretakers in the benefits of bodywork; particularly massage, energy work, positional release, lymphatic stroking,
communicating touch and Reiki (energy work). These non-aggressive, gentle modalities promote homeostasis, thereby supporting
health and well-being. We offer:
Massage is thoughtful, educated, disciplined touch with support of homeostasis as a primary goal. Homeostasis is the natural balance of the body that is constantly being reinforced from within and without. When homeostasis is impaired, the result is disease. Bodywork and Energy Work along with trained Communication techniques support homeostasis of both the giver and receiver. Restoration and maintenance of this natural balance supports improved physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health for all participants of any species. If you are
seeking an animal massage therapist in your area, please contact us. We have students and certified graduates across
the USA who will be happy to bring Companion Animal Massage & Bodywork to you.
Please visit the Houston Pets Examiner Column. You will find the article informative and fun whether you live in the Houston area or elsewhere. And if you
are a Texas Licensed Massage Therapist seeking CE units, please visit our CE site, Massage Therapy Texas. Thanks!
Regarding the practice of animal massage in the State of Texas: Per the Board of Veterinary Medicine 2006: "As we view it, massage is acceptable as long as it does not involve diagnosing or treating. There is a fine line here, but some massage can be interpreted as treatment, and that would be the practice of veterinary medicine which is prohibited to massage practitioners except under the supervision of a veterinarian." In addition, the history of the Texas Veterinary Medicine Scope of Practice Law includes the specific crossing out or lining out of the word "massage" thereby deliberately indicating that the practice of massage is not intended to be limited to the vet scope of practice. Class dates and times are subject to change without notice without
refunds. However, once payment has been made for a class the payee is entitled to attend a later class at a later date
of their choice or may arrange for a private session for the same fee as a group class.
